Because of the pandemic, Australia has seen a substantial lack of employees across a wide variety of industries. It was therefore decided by the Department of Home Affairs and the Australian Border Force to adopt a more flexible approach towards international students and Working Holiday visas. This was done by reducing or completely canceling some limitations that were related to the job opportunities of those in Australia with these visas.

This was done to assist the economy of the country in making certain services available again even during this difficult period. On the other hand, the situation is progressively returning to normal at this point. This is why the government has decided that beginning on July 1, 2023. Certain work limitations will reinstated for individuals who are in possession of a temporary visa.

HOURS RAISED TO A TOTAL OF 48 ONCE EVERY TWO WEEKS:

  • Students from outside Australia who are already there or who arrive on or after July 1, 2023, will eligible for the following:
  • labor for a maximum of 48 hours every two weeks, up from the previous maximum limit of 40 hours every two weeks;

The limit had removed in order to facilitate the economic recovery of the nation during the post-Covid-19 period. It is now reintroduced, but with an increase in the number of available working hours. This is done in order to satisfy the demands of the Australian market. As well as to ensure that international students are able to perform to the best of their abilities while they are studying in Australia.

  • In spite of the increased employment flexibility. Students are still required to maintain their dedication to the educational route that they have selected. They are required to do so because:
  • Keep your enrollment in the selected academic program, ensuring that you are making enough progress throughout the program. And maintain a satisfactory level of participation in the program.
  • If students cancel their enrollment in the course. Do not engage in the lessons, or do not satisfy the requirements for participation in the chosen path. They run the risk of inadvertently breaking the conditions of the validity of their Student visa.
